For six decades, the former educational consultant has been putting pen to paper (and in recent years fingers to keyboard) to commemorate important comings and goings in the life of her family and friends.
Her poems are variously humorous or prickly poignant. She's not afraid to call a son-in-common-law her "fun-in-law." As any good Jewish Mother will attest, family always comes first, and there are many tributes to her children, with only an occasional complaint.
My computer, MP3 and cell
Make Jody’s life a living hell
And when our schedules fail to mesh
I’m forced to contact Bangladesh.
- from the poem "Eighty"

Biography
Margie Golick, Ph.D., spent most of her professional career as a psychologist for children with learning disabilities. Her interest in how to take some of the drudgery out of learning led her to find ways to combine teaching and entertainment.
Her connection to media began in 1967 as consultant and educational advisor to The Loops to Learn By project at the National Film Board. Since then she has had a similar role in other projects at the Film Board, at International Cinemedia Centre, Kutoka Interactive, NDI Media, Cinar, Cookie Jar, and Cite Amerique.
She was on the CBC Sesame Street advisory board, working with writers and producers for more than twenty-five years, and has served as educational consultant to many popular animated television series for children. She has written several books for parents and teachers on the use of games in teaching and with Jane Churchill (illustrator of The Life and Rhymes of a Jewish Mother,) one for children themselves, Wacky Word Games.
She has received awards from the Quebec Association for Children with Learning Disabilities, Laubach Literacy of Canada, and a lifetime achievement award from the Alliance for Children and Television.
