Christmas and Mary’s love is the theme under which Ensemble Vocal Opus 16, a mixed choir directed by Alain Lanctôt will present its 2012 Christmas concert. The chorus members of Opus 16 will have the honor of singing in the magnificent church Ste. Geneviève. Philip Crozier organist will accompany the choir for the interpretation of traditional Christmas songs of harmonizers such as John Rutter, Bernard Lallement, J.S.Bach. Come and join us and discover the quality of this West Island vocal ensemble on Sat., Dec. 15 at 8 p.m. for a wonderful evening of music a few days before Christmas. The Lakeshore Chamber Music Society will present a concert featuring the vocal ensemble Viva Voce directed by Peter Schubert. The concert will be held at Union Church, 24 Maple Ave. in Ste. The Kirkland Concert Band continues its 2012-2013 musical season with its participation in ‘A Christmas Children’s Choir Festival’. This concert is sure to be an exciting experience with close to sixty children bringing their voices to this event.. Sat., Dec. 8, 7 p., at St. John Fisher Parish, 120 Summerhill Ave., Pointe Claire. Tickets will be available at the door, $10 for adults, $5 for children (under 12). The majority of the money raised will go to St. John Fisher Church to repair the roof.
Montreal Lakeshore University Women's Club will be holding their Christmas concert on Mon., Dec. 10 at 6.30 p.m., at Cedar Park United Church, 204 Lakeview, Pointe Claire. For this concert, the duo performs great classics of the symphonic repertoire transcribed for 4-hand piano: Rossini, Beethoven, Ravel, Grieg.
Christmas Fantasies with artists Valérie Milot and Antoine Bareil is a grand concert which will take place at St. Joachim Church Fri., Dec. 21 at 8 p.m. (doors open at 7:30 p.m.). Address: 2 Ste. Description: We can’t help but appreciate the delightful complicity of these two virtuosos of the harp and violin; the pairing of both the plucked string and the bowed string is a rich and colourful experience.
