Drawing from heavy indie, folk, hip hop, and reggae influences, such as Bob Marley and Elliott Smith, Jon and Roy create the kind of music that is rich, soothing and warm, with a sincerity that probably lends itself best to live performances. It's understandable then that "Exclaim! attributes to them an "unassuming, open-mic, coffee-shop vibe that charms and welcomes us in." In support of their latest album "Another Noon", Jon and Roy will be playing in Montreal, on Thursday, February 12, at L'Absynthe (1738 rue Saint-Denis). Victoria duo get by with 'a little bit of love' from their fans
If Jack Johnson had been born in Victoria, BC and not Hawai, he might have sounded a lot like Canadian duo Jon Middleton (vocals, guitar) and Roy Vizer (drums, percussion) who together form the self-explanatory Jon and Roy.
