After taking a look at your responses, I see a lot of similarities, which is totally normal! Who wouldn’t take Chara or Crosby in their team? But, David Ezerzer had the genius idea to add a wholesome pack of grit to his team by choosing Milan Lucic of the Boston bruins, and I would like to personally bring a special attention to his selection and congratulate him for his originality!
That being said, my selection goes as follows:
My top line would be composed of: Ovechkin on the left, centered by Malkin, with Iginla on the right.
For my second line, I would bring Zetterberg back on the left wing where he used to play alongside with Datsyuk, having Franzen on the right.
On my third line Crosby would center Parise and Alfredson.
Last but not least, on my fourth line, playing alongside with the dangerous Kovalchuk, I would unite Lecavalier and St. Louis.
I have decided so to have a harmony between talent, chemistry, and grit.
My quarterbacks would be: Chara with Markov, Lidstrom with Green, and Bouwmeester with Gonchar. These pairings would give me a combination between size, skating abilities and skill.
In nets I didn’t have much difficulties, Brodeur is my man! Luongo can warm up the bench.
This week I’d like to know your opinion on the hiring of Jacques Martin as a head coach. Do you approve of the decision; Yes/no and why? Thank you all for your participation and stay tuned for next week’s topic and chosen winners.
Martin - yes or no?
Salutations to my fellow hockey amateurs and welcome back to “We Talk Hockey.” First off, I would like to, once again, thank you all for your strong interest and great responses. I would also like to congratulate Stephane Cadoch and David Ezerzer who were the lucky winners of last week’s topic of discussion (please email your contact info at: wetalkhockey@gmail.com to claim your prize). They will each receive a free ‘Fight For Freedom’ t-shirt and will be entered in the draw for the opportunity to go see the Habs this coming season.

Yohan, love the column. For your last post: I think my dream team would beat yours Jacques Martin is a great coach and an excellent pick. Some naysayer’s might conclude that the furthest he's been in the playoffs was the eastern finals with the sens a few years back. I personally thought he was lucky to even get there with no goalie. But the habs goal for the next few seasons won’t be to make it to the cup, but instead to compete for a playoff spot, and what I mean by compete is to give the fans a product to be proud of, win or lose. Remember tickets are going up! Montréalers have no idea what the team is going to look like come this October, or who is going to own la sainte flanelle, but one thing is certain; Martin commands respect and expects performance and hard work. He’s hands down with a no nonesense approach and has years of experience. I would personally hope that local interests lose out on the habs bid and that the new owner will leave hockey operations, comments and suggestion to the hockey experts that manage the team (ahem ahem M Peladeau, stick to ruining your own company and not the habs please)
