Did the Canadiens draft a Rat in Round 1? Habs fans--you better hope so. A surprising comparison for some when I asked Canadiens scout Denis Morel about Louis Leblanc. "Like Ken Linesman...gritty, high energy, motor's always going." Suffice to say "The Rat" Linesman scored plenty more goals than the last Quebecois first rounder to pull on the 'bleu blanc rouge.' If Leblanc scores as many as a dozen in the NHL he'll surpass Eric Chouinard, the Habs' '98 draft bust. Wasn't that Vinnie's year? Sorry to remind.
Draft Breakfast and the fans are still in mid-season form, chanting "67" everytime the Leafs are called to make a selection.
Will we need to start calling them "The Brossard Alouettes"? The Als are practising at Brossard again this weekend.
Another Harvard first-round draft pick was seen by CJAD's Rob Martier on the floor Friday nite at the Bell Centre...Tim Fleizer is working with agent Gil Scott. Wonder if T-Fly can give Leblanc help on fraternity pledges?
