Stewart Hall Cultural Centre will hold the registration period for its ‘Little Scientists’ Camp’ (ages six to 11) Mondays through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. There are still a few places left for Secret Agent Lab Camp and Jr. Engineers’s Camp.Please note that as of July 21, Stewart Hall will offer two new camps: Eureka Campfor budding inventors, and Mad Lab Campto spice up science and make memories to last a lifetime. Felins Urbains is holding a garage sale fundraiser in support of stray cats on July 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cabanon Fortin parking lot in Ile Bizard. Enjoy a ton of items at low prices while supporting a good cause. The money raised at the garage sale will benefit the stray cats from Montreal that will be receiving vaccine, deworming, sterilization, microchip and all health care. The parking lot is located at 346 Cherrier Blvd., Ile Bizard. Cancelled if rain.

Pointe Claire Parks Program will hold their annual Fair Day Wednesday July 10 at 6 p.m. at Valois Park in Pointe Claire. Live music, air-bounce games, barbecue food, games for the kids, horesback rides and fun for the whole family. Call 514-630-1214 for more information.


Le Nichoir will hold its annual open house July 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at its Hudson headquarters. Canada’s largest rehabilitation centre specializing in songbird care, Director Susan Wylie is inviting all to an event that will have something for everyone, both young and old. There will be a childrens’ story corner as well as age-specific activities, including bird watching in Nature Conservancy’s Clarke Sydenham Nature Reserve led by Chris Cloutier, resident naturalist from the Morgan Arboretum. There will also be tours of the centre to meet Le Nichoir staff and learn about how they care for the injured birds brought to the centre. Visit lenichoir.org for more information. Nova West Island will present a benefit concert featuring the Catch the 2Hands Blues Band July 12 at 6:30 p.m., at the Pioneer Resto Bar. If you enjoy Chicago blues and would like to have a fun filled evening with friends, then this concert is for you. Tickets cost $15; all proceeds benefit Nova. The restaurant is located at 286 Lakeshore Rd, Pointe Claire.
