Local police are looking for a man suspected of armed assault after a fight broke out in a Dollard des Ormeaux restaurant.

The victim was with his mother at Pub St. James in the Galerie des Sources shopping centre on June 17 at 1:45 a.m. when a scuffle started.

Chairs were thrown around the establishment and one hit the victim’s mother,

said Const. Leslie Potts of Montreal police Station 4.

The victim, a Dollard man in his early 20s, confronted the suspect, who allegedly threw the chair. “The suspect didn’t appreciate being told what to do and just turned around and popped a bottle on him,” Potts said. “(He) broke a bottle over the guy’s head.”

Meanwhile, another victim, a man in his 20s from Pierrefonds, filmed the fracas using a camera in his cellphone. Another suspect grabbed his phone and smashed it, Potts said.

The man who was hit with the bottle was rushed to hospital, where he received “quite a few stitches,” she said. His life was not in danger.

His assailant, an English-speaking black man, around 25 years old, managed to flee the pub before police arrived.湵
