Police are warning residents to be on the lookout after two separate break-ins into two different cars occurred on residential streets in proximity to each other in Pierrefonds last Thursday. GPS devices were taken in both cases.
The first happened at about 4 p.m. in the afternoon on Grier Street.. "Many valuable objects" were taken, according to Const. Dan Maheu, including a GPS.
The second was overnight between Thursday and Friday on nearby Monaco Street. Maheu listed CDs, glasses, a car DVD player and other personal objects among the stolen items.
There are no suspects at this time. Maheu said the GPS devices were left highly visible on the windshields of both vehicles.
A 20-year old woman was injured last Thursday when the bus she got off from rolled over her foot.
The DDO resident had tried to jump over a snow bank onto the sidewalk, but slipped and got caught by the bus as it started to drive forward. The accident took place at 6:36 p.m. on the corner of Fredmir and Anselme-Lavigne.
The woman was taken to the Jewish General Hospital with injuries to her left foot and ankle. Her condition was not considered to be serious.
Police are on the look-out for a hit-and-run suspect who struck a car's bumper with his own vehicle at a gas station in Dorval last Thursday at about 1 a.m.
Const. Hélène Jubinville said the victim did not see the incident since he was inside paying for his gas when it occurred. However, once he walked outside and saw the damage, a witness alerted him to what had happened.
As the victim walked back in to call 911, the cashier assured him that he knew the suspect's name, since he had seen his driver's license when he paid.
