A mother in her 30s and her 22-month-old son, in a stroller at the time, were struck by a garbage truck while crossing Sources Blvd. in Dollard des Ormeaux Thursday morning, said Montreal Police Service Const. Olivier Lapointe.

The two were crossing Sources at the corner of Hyman Boulevard about 10:45 a.m. when they were hit by the truck, which was turning north onto Hyman.

Both were taken to hospital.

Police have shut down northbound Sources Boulevard indefinitely.

Police have not yet indicated if charges are pending.
