The Hockey West Island Peewee BF Knights beat the Lakeshore Panthers 4-0 in the final game of the Lac St. Louis Regional Championships (girls) on April 1 at the Sportplexe St. Lazarre. The Panthers came out very aggressive in the first period, forcing the Knights into a defensive game, but were held back from scoring by Knights goalie Joanne Wafer. When West Island’s Taylor Lowe scored the first goal at 1:14 into the second period, followed at 1:27 with a quick rebound by Cristina Pelosi, the Knights kicked up the pace. Lowe’s second goal a minute later set the tone for the rest of the game, and despite Lakeshore’s solid efforts and strong goaltending, Laura Lamarre’s breakaway goal on a pass from Darcie Laberge in the third closed the door.
