Doreen Edward, who runs Venturing Out Beyond Our Cancer, participates in Avon’s Paint it Pink event last week in Pointe Claire.

Avon is planning on handing out $500,000 this fall to breast cancer charities nominated through its campaign. Organizers say permanent paint was used on Avon's parking lot in order to mark the company's commitment to eradicate breast cancer. <@Cp>Chronicle, Jacques Pharand<@$p>
