ATM fraud

Police arrested two men for allegedly committing fraud at an ATM machine at a St. Charles Boulevard bank on Nov. 2, said Const. J.P. Levis of Montreal police Station 1.

A Brinks employee, servicing the ATM machine from behind, called 911 to alert police after he noticed two men in front of the machine trying to commit fraud at about 10 p.m. Patrol officers were dispatched to the scene and intercepted two men, both aged 24. A Pierrefonds and Dollard des Ormeaux man were arrested and face fraud charges. Police seized a significant amount of cash from the suspects as well as other evidence, Levis said.

The Montreal police fraud squad is continuing its investigation into the case.

School fire

Four individuals tried to set fire to the old Spring Garden Elementary school in Dollard des Ormeaux last Wednesday at about 9 p.m., said Station 4 media relations officer Chantale Castonguay.

Witnesses called 911, but the weak fire did not even last a few minutes on its own.

There is no description of the suspects, though they arrived and left in a purple Toyota Prius.
