Register today for Sept. 10 tourney at Beaconsfield Golf Club

Beaconsfield Golf Club will play host to the 11th annual Amcal Family Services ‘Family Matters’ golf tournament slated for Sept. 10 at picturesque Beaconsfield Golf Club in Pointe Claire.

Are you looking for the opportunity to set foot on one of Montreal’s most exclusive golf courses and help a valuable community organization at the same time? Then look no further than the Amcal Family Services’ 11th annual ‘Family Matters’ golf tournament, slated for Sept. 10 at the venerable Pointe Claire golf course.

The non-profit organization, which provides a residential program for teens having trouble at home, school-based anti-bullying programs and provides courses and education for parents of children at any age, is trying to raise an ambitious $90,000 at the event, which is the group’s main fundraising event of the year.

Executive director Heather Holmes said the group is looking for a “few more” foursomes to take to the links next month to ensure the tournament’s success, as well as auction items and sponsors.

What’s in it for West Islanders? You mean, beside the opportunity to play on one of the West Island’s most challenging courses and help out an organization that’s devoted to helping society’s most vulnerable population – its children – a better chance at a fulfilling and meaningful life?

Not much. But that seems like a lot in and of itself.
