Scooter theft, Station 4

A black, Yamaha scooter was stolen from a house on Barcelone Street in Dollard des Ormeaux sometime over the last weekend, between Oct. 24 and 26, said Station 4 media relations officer Leslie Potts. This should not be taken as an indication thefts in motorcycles are increasing, said Potts, as this was the only recent police file of its kind reported.

Ladies snatch purse contents, Station 5

Police in Station 5 are looking for three women who robbed senior citizens at a grocery store in Pointe Claire.

On Oct. 30, the three suspects approached older senior women shopping at the store in question, purportedly to ask them if they needed any help. Once the latter let their guard down, a scuffle ensued and the three women snatched their purses, robbed them of their contents, and ran off.

The first suspect is described as 30-year-old, white woman, with a tan, short black hair, and speaking English with an accent.

The second is described in identical terms, except as 35-40 years old.

The third is also a white woman, described as 45-50 years old, with curly brown hair, and speaking English with an accent.

Media relations officer Hélène Jubinville reminds seniors living in Pointe Claire and Dorval they may stop by at Station 5 to pick up a small bag to tuck their cash in that can be hidden inside their coats.

Residents are also reminded not to leave their purses in shopping carts, and be on their guard about any strangers.
