Two suspects are under arrest after robbing a depanneur on Pierrefonds Boulevard Friday afternoon at about 5 p.m. According to community relations officer Dan Maheu, the two men allegedly walked into the store and stole several bottles of beer and wine. When the store manager saw them, he attempted to call the police, only to have his telephone thrown in his face by one of the fleeing suspects.

Witnesses intercepted a police patrol vehicle and told them of the crime. "Officers tracked down the two suspects to their apartment's balcony somewhere on Gouin Boulevard," Maheu said, and ordered them to come down via megaphone. The two came down and were arrested.

Baseball bat beat-down

Cedar Park in Pointe Claire was the scene of a theft last Wednesday night at 10 p.m. when a young man and his friend were stopped by three suspects who asked him if he had marijuana. When he said he did not, they hit him repeatedly with a baseball bat, according to station 5 community relations officer Hélène Jubinville, and then forced him to give them the money he had on him, as well as his cell phone.

Two of the three suspects looked to be more or less 16 years old, are about 1.65 metres tall, and weigh 120 pounds. They both wore dark caps. The third suspect, a young man about 1.82 metres tall and weighing about 150 pounds, wore a dark hoodie.

Beware of fraudulent door to door

Police are reminding residents to be on their guard for any potential home renovations or reparations representatives as the fall season approaches. Last Thursday, an elderly woman living on 5th Avenue in Roxboro opened her doors to two men purporting to be chimney cleaners, only to fin herself robbed as one of them distracted her with conversation.

After they left, the Roxboro resident in question realized what had happened and called police. They are now on the look-out for two men, both white, French speakers. The first looks to be about 45 years old. The second is about 1.65 metres tall.
