Now that the Doghouse is empty isn't it typical that the Canadiens' health clinic is filling up again?
Does Carey Price have a cold, the flu, or do the Habs have Bouwmeester Fever? Jaroslav Halak gets two mid-week starts in a row and he deserves it! But the truth is Florida's GM and AGM were here at the Bell Centre Tuesday and they're trying to move their talented defenseman with the kind of shot that could help the Habs powerplay.
Now if its Halak and Higgins for the strong-Bouw, do you do it?
Do you think Tomas Plekanec had a 'plays well with others' rating when he was in daycare? Plek will make it a soft landing for Guillaume Latendresse in #84's return to action. Plek gives lessons every night in how a skilled player can still be gritty and determined defensively.
If you're Ryan O'Byrne, aren't you glad to see Francis Bouillon as your defense partner? All due respect to Roman Hamrlik, but by playing with Boo, O'Bryne (please don't call him BooBoo or Boo2) will only need to give 12 solid minutes. He can do that. Earlier this season paired up with Hamrlik, Private Ryan was averaging 16-1/2 per game. Managing his minutes is smart.
Don't you love the fact that even though Doug Jarvis is back behind the bench after the painful loss of his father last week, that Mike Komisarek is still an 'assistant'. Now if Carbo can keep his job for the next 15 years, the Komasaurus will be ready to become the next Habs head coach!
Know what Rick Tocchet told me when I asked if he ever catches himself quoting some of his former coaches like Scotty Bowman, Mike Keenan, Jim Schoenfeld and Wayne Gretzky? He does quote them often but I'm afraid I can't quote them for you: "They all could swear pretty good!"
