Why do so many Crosby-bashers who say 'Sid's a whiner' come off sounding like whiners themselves? I've got no problem with Crosby getting carried away with the Cup and failing to shake hands with Wings. If that's the harshest thing he's done at 21, he's doing fine.
Did you hear Vincent Lecavalier tell my buddy Abe Hefter "...of course..." when asked if he'd accept Montreal as a trade destination? Man they must have been serving
Stroke of luck or stroke of genius? Marc-Andre' Fleury was brilliant thanking the hockey gods after that puck struck his cross-bar. Hey...red metal---a goalie's friend, right?
Wonder if my 2nd-favorite goalie from the 70's Gilles Meloche can accept that Fleury didn't stick to his butterfly to rob Lidstrom in the final seconds? That old-school flop to take the shot off the shoulder was classic.
You don't think the Pittsburgh Pirates are feeling any pressure now do you? That parade route won't be needed in October for World Series, that's for sure.
Have I ever made a career decision for money? No. So I can appreciate Hossa taking less money to play for the Wings not the Pens, but I love that delicious irony.
No I don't think the Penguins can repeat next season. Just too many things fell into place for their dream run.
Once Talbot scored the first goal I said he'd score another goal in that fateful game 7. I've got witnesses.
Have you ever sat through a full day at work with a wet shirt? I did Monday after losing for the 5th straight year at the Jabbarr Challenge Cup. Jabbarr Charles is an amazing young man who wanted to prove to me that the kids from Mackay Centre School can do astounding things. They can fly in the pool! And once again the young swimmers swept virtually every one of two dozen races against the CJAD Swim Team.
Through Episode 4 on Spike TV's "4th & Long" with Michael Irvin, Alouettes prospect Andrew Hawkins is very much in the mix. Which only proves you're only as good as your last carry or your last tribal council.
FYI: my favorite goalie of the '70's has his jersey hanging from the rafters @ Centre Bell, but Meloche was always my #2 of the era because I felt pity for the goalie who saw that much rubber...year in and year out languishing at the bottom of the GAA stats lists that Dryden led every year. Which reminds me I'm long overdue for a burger from Gilles' place down the street from CJAD at Notre Dame & Charlevoix.
