Is Anthony Calvillo the Saku Koivu of the Als? No, not for the cancer-fighting heroics in the families. For their unappreciated skills, smarts and dedication to their teams. Adrian McPherson looks comfortable in his first CFL start and some Als fans are ready to annoint him as The Future...and the future as soon as Canada Day!? Remember...this was only a pre-season win, and only a pre-season win against the Argos.

If the Habs didn't feel compelled to go the obvious route in hiring their new coach, are you as confident as I am they won't feel fan or media pressure on Draft Days next week?

Wasn't that sweet revenge for the Son of Sweetness to score on a solid TD run against his broz on the Als? I hope Jarrett Payton makes the Argos this year. Some people around the league think the only reason he's in TO is because he played in the NFL-Europe for the Bart-man, Argos rookie head coach Bart Andrus. That's reason enough if Andrus knows the heart Payton brings.

Need evidence Tony Proudfoot is having a real impact on the field for the Als? Ever since losing a Grey Cup ring because of a botched field goal Dr. Proudfoot (Phd in Staple Gun Technology) has had his issues with kickers. So the Als repeatedly kept their offense rolling on 3rd and short or 3rd-and-not-so-short, even going for 2-point conversions. Great confidence builders for young qb's like McPherson and Leak and Santos. Great confidence builders for a young o-line. Tony actually suggested the CFL eliminate kicking converts when the league wanted rule change input from fans.

Don't you think Chris Jennings powering for 122 yards was the biggest surprise of the game? If Avon and Imoh aren't at 100 percent the Als can feel comfortable at tailback.

The future of the Als trench warfare appears to be solid too with Andrew Woodruff, Dylan Steenbergen and Luc Brodeur-Jordain having blasted through the Argos defense. Brodeur-Jordain's had quite a week...just recieving his Laval Championship ring 4 days before making his Alouette debut.
