If the Als went to bed so early on the eve of the Eskimos game, how come they showed up so late?

Will Edmonton be the last 9PM curfew for Trestman's Angels?

Sorry, that wasn't a curfew---it was a "friendly suggestion" from Coach, as one player told me on the field during warmup at Commonwealth.

At 4-1 are the Als really that much better than last season's club which was 2-3 after 5 games? Yes because they've proven they can beat quality opponents and no-one can downgrade their victories by suggesting they've come against softies like the Argos, Cats and Blue Bombers.

The Als D still proved it can come up with some big plays to spark the offense and special teams. Unfortunately on a night when the Eskimos provided a tribute to the Centennial of Flight in Canada, AC's air game fizzled. 0 points off the Sanchez fumble recovery. No completions over 20 yards. And even the long-range bomber Adrian McPherson failed to drop his payload in the final minute when it was Hail Mary time. (He sure runs smoothly, though).

Who would you trust more: a Brazilian police report or a con man's wife?

Isn't it wonderful when good friends can remain so through professional rivalry? Mathieu Proulx o the firm MARCHAND, MELANSON, FORGET tells me he and his good buddy Etienne Boulay are closer than ever despite injuries forcing them into job-sharing time and again.

When will a CFL team put Vick on its secret "neg list"? As soon as an NFL team signs him. My sources around the league suggest no-one wants the CFL unleashing controversy by jumping offside in his image re-hab.

If Vick offers a donation to a local humane society for every TD toss or passing yard, do you think they'd take the money?

Why is it when some coaches give an ex-con player yet another chance they're seen as angelic mentors while others are accused of nothing but cynical intentions?

Bill Bellichick is playing it coy on The Dog Killa but if he can muzzle Randy Moss, the only question is do the Patriots really want something overshadowing Brady's comeback. And just don't let the Dog Whisperer into any offensive meetings.

Is Jim Popp hooked on reality TV? The Als GM tells me Spike TV's "4th & Long with Michael Irvin" winner Jesse Holley "could play in this league...an SJ Green, Jamal Richardson type, not a ‘fast-twitch' guy but a big body receiver." The Als already have "4th & Long" leading character Andrew Hawkins and CJAD has learned the team wanted the other final cut Eddie Moten from the show.

If you're not sold on the reality tv concept, want a solid character reference on Holley? He's not on any CFL "neg list" yet but he did win a training camp invite rom the BC Lions last year after another former basketball and football star from his 'hood (Roselle, New Jersey) brought him to the attention Wally Buono. Former Alouettes' allstar Barron Miles, who could be a future GM or coach in this league.

Edmonton Head Coach Richie Hall revealed to me that notable scars on his forehead is from a childhood accident----on a motorcycle at the age of 3? Reminds me of my vacation in Venezuela a couple of years ago. It appears driving a motorcyle without a helmet is NOT the law but riding with a child is beyond tolerated, it seems to be mandatory.

Hall says suffering only the scar from a motorbike-car collission while his father's friend took him for a spin only proves "I have a hard head." A coaching requisite of course.
