Are you sorry to see a Decade Without a Name come to an end? Truth is I can't wait until the Canadiens start planning their 125th Anniversary Celebrations.
Should I confess to my wife? Meeting her at a New Years Eve Party in Lachine back in the day only rates a close second to my best New Years Eve ever.
Why was I embarrassed during both those revelries? Truth is I was embarrassed for my boyhood idol Ken Dryden that historic night at the Forum. Embarrassed for myself just a few years later, the New Years Eve I met my future wife---I got my shirt collar caught on her ear ring. And that was before we'd kissed! Twenty-five years later she's still recovering from that "upper body injury".
More New Years Resolutions to share, including some great suggestions from CJAD 800 listeners and Chronicle Readers:
Tiger: Return to the PGA Tour, even if PGA in 2010 stands for "Paying Gobs of Alimony".
Ben Cahoooooooooooon: like the fans said on Parade Day…”One More Year!”
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers: doing more than Stephen Harper again and finding more great ways for reducing foul emissions---firing Mike Kelly was a great start!
Tomas Plekanec: give an autograph to……Bob Gainey.
TSN and Sportsnet: stop pretending poker is a sport.
Canadian Football Hall of Fame: induct Tracy Ham along with Sonny Wade.
While you're at it, grab a mould of Cahoon's hands; a sculpture of those hands would be more fitting than a bust of his head.
Bob Gainey: Keep BOTH Price and Halak.
TMZ: Make sure your Sports Network stands for more than just Tigers Messy Zoo.
Tony Proudfoot: keep that lucky tuque ready for Grey Cup Edmonton 2010!
You: Have a healthy and Happy New Year.
