HOW MANY NHL GM'S DOES IT TAKE TO UN-SCRAMBLE A BRAIN? Sorry, no joke here. Cuz however many it is, it only takes one NHL Brain to re-scramble it. On the very day a new Headshot Rule is suggested, the league fails to suspend Matt Cooke for the ugly headshot on Marc Savard. Who's got the more dangerous brain-scramble: Savard or Colin Campbell?

Are you relieved Sidney Crosby's Golden stick and glove have been recovered? A nation can breathe a collective sigh of relief knowing they were never stolen, just "mis-directed in the shipping process." The stick almost ends up at a museum in Russia? I was ready to send Matt Cooke to hunt down the Russian mobster who would have walked off with it.

You REALLY want to end headshots in a hurry? Every time a repeat offender like Cooke is called to a disciplinary hearing, who should have to re-enact the hit...on Colin Campbell. Then we'll see if he doesn't want to punish those "borderline legal" shots.

Shouldn't Jacques Martin win some more credit for the Habs' post-Olympic playoff push? He's putting his finger on all the right buttons with Price and Halak playing well. He's stripped Metropolit AND Pouliot of icetime, only to see them get the message and rebound immediately. And he's helped incorporate Dominic Moore quickly.

Toronto wants to host the NHL Allstar game in 2012? Shouldn't they be asked to get an NHL TEAM first?

Bruins in for St. Paddy's Day Parade Weekend? Crank up the Dropkick Murphys! Can't wait to march with Anthony Calvillo and the Grey Cup. I'll have a CJAD gift for you!

Without Savard tho, and if Chara's hurting in a bad way for any length of time, that team is going to miss the playoffs.

What's with Joe Kaiser following the Habs around in California to sing the Anthems before the games in San Jose', LA and Anaheim--- but wearing a Ducks jersey in Anaheim? Worst Wardrobe Malfunction of Oscar Night? I know the Habs rallied anyway, but Joe, if you want to sing again during the playoffs, stick with the 'bleu blanc rouge'.

Als GM Jim Popp, in Toronto for this weekend's CFL Scouting Combine, tells me Cody Pickett's got lots of upside. The ex-Argo was thrown into a bottomless boat by The Don in Toronto, and then struggled behind Kerry Joseph last season. As long as this isn't prelude to Leak or McPherson being traded, I'm cool with Cody's last chance to prove himself in the Canadian game.

If you want to make a donation to the Canadiens Childrens' Foundation Radiothon, go to cjad.com for details. Then e-mail me and tell me what inspired you to give. I'll put you in the draw for a great kids' book--Alex and the Ghosts, based on the short film made for the Centennial.

Dear Rick, I sent audition tapes to all three teams with the hope that they would all say yes. My record as an anthem singer for Habs games is 14-4 for the Habs. The Ducks have a policy that the singer must wear a Ducks jersey. Not my proudest moment, but I didn't really have a choice. Trust me, though: no one was cheering louder than my friends and I when the Habs tied it up. :) It's my goal to sing in each NHL arena. Right now, I've sung in 6. I really enjoyed meeting the West Coast fans: they were very savvy and supportive of their respective teams. My allegiance to the Habs will always be strong. I never miss a game, even if I have to watch it on DVR. The team is looking great, With our Olympians playing with a newfound confidence. I look forward to the stretch run. I'll be watching (not singing) on Tuesday in NY. And don't worry: whereas I was thrilled to sing for the Kings, Sharks and Ducks, my heart is bleu, blanc et rouge. Come playoff time, it's Bell Centre or bust. Best, Joe
