Over $100,000 raised in two years

A group of 9 employees of Dorval's SMS Equipment will take part in the 5th edition of the Tremblant 24h of cycling. Big winner last year, they are hoping to win this year's edition. In the past two years, the team has raised over $100,000. This year, they hoped to raise more than $15,000 – which they have achieved.

Dorval's SMS Equipment team, cycling again this year for a good cause.

SMS has been raising money for different foundations – in this case the St. Justine Hospital. "SMS has always been associated with youth-related causes," said Robert Baronian, Manager at SMS equipment and captain of the cycling team.

Kids are our future, said Baronian. "If we don't take care of our future, I don't know what will come of us." Sick kids also touches home for many families working at SMS, starting with Baronian, who has spent several weeks at his daughter bedside when she was little.

"Three years ago, we had a colleague that had his two year old diagnosed with cancer," remembered Baronian. The little boy is now in remission – fingers crossed.

At press time, SMS equipment was the highest fundraising team, with $15,396 in total donations.
