Maple Street pot operatrion worth as much as $400,000: cops

A joint task force made up of Montreal police Station 4 cops and narcotics-squad officers closed down a Dollard des Ormeaux home marijuana grow-op just before Christmas, police. After getting a tip from civilians about a strong odour of pot coming from the Maple Street home, police conducted surveillance and confirmed the tip before moving in and arresting two people, a 60-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman, said Const. Chantal Castonguay of Montreal police Station 4. Police recovered about 613 marijuana plants in various stages of maturity. The plants are valued at about $400,000. The suspects will be charged with cultivation of a controlled substance.
