Station 3 (serving Pierrefonds, Roxboro, Ste. Genevieve and Ile Bizard):
Thieves made off with heavy pockets after robbing coin-operated laundry machines in apartment buildings on Riviera Street in Pierrefonds for the last six weeks, police said. The incidents – five in all – began Jan. 18, with the most recent one taking place March 5, said Const. Dan Maheu of Montreal police Station 3. Two suspects have been identified, police said. The two men are both about 20 years of age. One is reported to be of Asian descent, while the other suspect's background is unidentified, but he is reported to have a slightly larger build and stands about five-foot-ten, Maheu said. Both suspects wore beige and white hooded winter coats. The two men like to break into the building sometime between midnight and 1 a.m. and force the coin-storage unit on washing machines and dryers in the building. The also break into the building's mailboxes, police said. The investigation is ongoing and witnesses are asked to keep an eye out for the men.
