A three-year-old little girl was miraculously unhurt after a bizarre incident Thursday night in Dorval.
According to police, the girl’s mother stopped her car on the Fenelon Boulevard overpass spanning Highway 20 in Dorval at about 8:36 p.m. on Thursday night. The woman apparently took her daughter in her arms and jumped from the overpass, said Const. Yannick Ouimet of the Montreal police service in an apparent suicide attempt.
Miraculously, the woman did not land on the highway, but on the side of the highway’s service road, sustaining fractures in two places, including a broken leg. In a miraculous turn of events, the little girl didn’t have a scratch on her, police confirmed.
“The girl was unhurt, but was handed over to child protective services,” Ouimet confirmed.
Reports that the woman also had a nine-year-old son at home have yet to be confirmed. Come back to www.westislandchronicle.com throughout the day for updates as they happen.
