Jacques Cartier MNA Geoff Kelley and Nelligan MNA Yolande James were both given new responsibilities after their government was ousted Sept. 4 Kelley, who was formerly minister for aboriginal affairs, will be the critic for aboriginal affairs and relations with the anglophone community, meaning he will be in charge of keeping an eye on PQ language hawk Jean-Francois Lisee – named the minister for Montreal and relations with the anglophone community -- while James, who was formerly families minister, will be the critic for sustainable development and the environment.

Kelley said the responsibility is a big one and he will try to maintain the ties he developed when he travelled to the pockets of English communities around the province during the provincial election.

"The English community in the province feels like the Liberal party and caucus can do more to help them, and I'm looking forward to staying in touch," Kelley said. "I will watch Mr. Lisee and ensure he represents our community to the best of his abilities. (My new responsibilities) are not only that, but first and foremost, I will make sure the concerns of the English community are heard," he said.
