Gourmet cuisine, fine wine and evening wear were the order of the day, or rather, the evening at the Montreal Airport Sheraton last Monday night for West Island Community Shares’ fourth annual Share the Experience. More than 150 people in all different brands of finery in an atmosphere that can only be described as chic and cosmopolitan – and an event that any nightlife columnist worth her salt would be attending. Alongside a photographer and armed with my tape recorder, dress and shoes, I was ready to mingle with the West Island’s political and business leaders – who, it was hoped, wouldn’t be modest in bidding on some of the items up for auction.
