Do you know the best place to go for hamburgers in the West Island? The Chronicle wants to shine a light on some of the West Island’s finest and the key to the success of this project is community participation in Best of the West.

Starting next month, a team of taste-testers will set out to determine some of the best foods to eat and places to be in the West Island, and is looking for your submissions in 16 categories. So, tell us about your favourite hamburgers (May 6), pizza (May 13), fish n’ chips ( May 20), poutine (May 27), sushi ( June 3), sweet treat (June 10), salad (June 17), backyard garden (send in your photo) (June 24), late night eats (July 1), community pool (July 8), steak (July 15), pasta dish (July 25), bagels (Aug. 5), breakfast (Aug. 12), sandwich (Aug. 19), readers' choice (you pick the topic) (Aug. 26)

Phone in or e-mail your suggestions – with a short explanation behind your choice – to 514-685-4690, ext. 243, or marc.lalonde@transcontinental.ca.

Looks like O'Burger got its employees or owners to put in an extra good word.

"O" Burger on Blvd St-Jean. Definitely the best burgers my wife and I have had in a long time. Both burgers were well cooked....not over cooked... juicy and large. The buns were excellent..not that combination of sawdust, and wallboard you normally get. The service was good. The process of putting the burgers together was done with care. The toppings were interesting and tasty. We should mention that the, seweet potatoe fries were fabulous as well. It is a great spot, clean and welcoming!. It a great place to have a burger even when the hockey game is on!!

For the best burger in town, you have to try O'Burger on the corner of St-Jean and De Salaberry in DDO. They have a great hamburger with all sorts of add-ons like Portobello Mushrooms, Brie Cheese, Sautéed onions, and sweet potato fries. My favorites is O'Burger & Boston

I have tasted burgers, but I have to say that I don't ever recall tasting one as amazing as O'Burger's. Their special sauce is out of this world and it's a really fun place to be! You gotta try it!
