In Grade 10 last year at Beaconsfield High School, Kirkland resident Ismail, like his twin brother Ibrahim, was among the school's top ten academic achievers – performing particularly well in history, where he scored a 97 per cent average in the subject. In addition, Ismail likes to look after his community and helps out by being an active member of BHS's Student Life team, as well as donating his time to the West Island Association for the Intellectually Handicapped (WIAIH) annual art show and raised funds for the Terry Fox Foundation. He is also an active member of the school band and plays saxophone.
