There are many outstanding young people in the West Island and The Chronicle and Cités Nouvelles would like to recognize and reward them.

If you know of any extraordinary young person between the ages of 10 and 17 write in and tell us. Nominees must reside in the West Island area spanning from Lachine to Hudson. We’re looking for those youngsters who are contributing something special to their family, school, sports organization, church or community.

Please keep in mind that the award selection is based on the information you provide on the nominee. All the information you need to nominate someone is included on the nomination forms.

High grades, musical talent, impressive athletic skills, inspiring fundraising efforts and motivated minds were just some of the achievements that have been recognized in the past. Which deserving kids will be nominated this year?

    Hello, Just wondering if you acknowledge receipt of Nominations (2009). I mailed in my nomination for Victoria Wagner about 10 days ago, and want to make sure that it reached your offices for consideration. Please confirm! Thanks, Lynn

    Danielle (17) has recently graduated from Villa Maria with an overall grade average of 85%. She has many varied interests such as piano basketball and soccer but her greatest accomplishments have been in ecological and humanitarian projects. She has volunteered numerous hours with Amnestie International,Unicef and Gaea a school created environmental group. This past summer she had the opportunity to go to El Salvador for almost 4 weeks with a small group of youths to build a house for one of the families and a playground for the local school. She worked hard to raise a portion of the costs herself by selling fair trade products and was able to realized her dream. For her it is just the beginning
