Sun Youth Organization is excited to announce the 32nd annual Sun Youth Holiday Festival Basketball Tournament. This year’s tournament edition attracts teams from the United States, China and Ontario to face the top collegiate and club teams in Quebec.

The Sun Youth Holiday Festival is Montreal’s premiere amateur basketball tournament. The community has grown up on Sun Youth’s classic basketball battles. The tournament has featured numerous star players over the years from NBA players such as Kenny Smith, Walter Berry, and Chris Mullin to local legends such as Dwight Walton. Notable tournament alum, Andrew Wiggins is North America’s #1 ranked high school prospect in the class of 2013. We are looking forward to another tournament edition loaded with elite talent.

The Holiday Festival coincides with Sun Youth’s annual holiday food drive which is a crucial service in helping Montreal’s less fortunate. This is a time when Sun Youth is doing some of its most important work, handing out food and toys to the needy so their holiday season can have a little more cheer. We hope the convergence of these two worlds has an effect on all the players, coaches, and staff involved. The melding of community work and sport are vital to the mission of our organization. We look forward to another year of exciting basketball. Go Hornets!

The Sun Youth Holiday Festival runs from December 20-23, 2012 at 4251 St-Urbain St.

Games start at 5 p.m. Thursday.  The tournament semi-finals are slated for Saturday at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. The final will be played Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Admission costs $5 for adults, $3 for students and children under 7 get in free.
