The Lakeshore Tigers Novice B hockey team recently improved their post Christmas record to 5-0-1 with a win over the Pierrefonds Royals. Tigers center Giancarlo D’Alesio scored one first period goal and then added three more in the third to lead the Tigers to victory. “It was the first time I ever scored four goals” said D’Alesio in a post game interview. Playing on a line with wingers Ryan Beisswanger and Alessandro Carelli that was easily the best of the game on either side; D’Alesio achieved his four goals on only six shots on net. Also contributing to the Tigers offensive effort were Christian Morrissette with a pair of goals and Evan Carey with one. Tiger’s defensemen Dylan Benamron and Liam McNamara were among the Tigers defensive stars who helped conserve the shutout for goaler Gwyneth Torriani. For the Pierrefonds Royals it was their first loss since the Christmas break. “We are a young team with mostly first year players,” said Royals genera manager Glen Maxheleau. The Royals who were never really out of the game until midway through the third had solid performances by numerous players. Goalie Tyler Hamaker was particularly impressive when he stopped Tigers sharp shooter Morrissette with a spectacular glove save midway through the second when the score was only 2-0 in favor of Lakeshore. Also coming up with big plays for the Royals was centre Daniel Korotkevich who playing along side Radek Korda and Anthony Bessa Lucia had numerous scoring opportunities throughout the contest.

Thanks for encouraging the players from the Novice B Royals as well as the winning team! We are also proud of all our kids, even though our players are generally much smaller and younger than most, with only three second-year players in our Pierrefonds' Novice B Royals team. We are also proud of our goalkeeper, Tyler , who does a great job of stopping goals.
