The victory also gave Elm Park first-place overall honours in the NAA's season-total A division combined grid with 3,634 points.
The meet, hosted by Valleycrest Pool in Pierrefonds, was the final step of a summer-long process aimed at determining the NAA's top outdoor swim clubs in three separate categories.
Fairview Pool came in second in the A division with 614 points while Glenmore Pool finished third with 583. Fairview actually accumulated enough Big Meet points to finish second overall in the A division season-total combined grid section with 3,207 ahead of third-place Glenmore, which finished with 3,158.
Westminster Pool finished first in the Big Meet B division with 521 points, good enough to also place it first overall in the NAA season-total combined grid with 3,304. Ecclestone Pool came in second at the Big Meet with 413 points, good enough for second-place overall combined with 3,075 points, while Westpark Pool finished third at the Big Meet with 329 points, as well as third overall with a combined 2,861.
Elm Park's Matthew Grillo set two Big Meet records while competing in the boys' 13-14 category. The indoor competitor for the Pointe Claire Swim Club won gold in the 25-metre freestyle and butterfly events with respective times of 25.89 and 28.21.
Overseeing Grillo and the entire Elm Park squad was the coaching staff, which has become accustomed to pointing out various reasons behind their troops' dominance during this decade. The main one being the fact that year after year, even if they're winter swimmers, they still come to practice and try hard.
