L’Association de soccer de l’Ile Bizard recently hosted their seventh annual soccer tournament. The event, which saw games played in five differentNorthShoreparks, attracted fifty eight teams from acrossMontrealandQuebec. The caliber of play ranged from U-9 to U-14 in both boys and girls divisions.  Ile Bizard soccer president Yves Ravacley said this tournament is known for its number and quality of the volunteers who run the tournament. “Most of our volunteers have been with us since the first year,” said Ravacley.  Among those referred to by Ravacley were Russell and Lucie Pryde. “We are the cooks and we are proud to have been here since day one” said the couple who oversaw the tournaments canteen. Other keys volunteers include among others Communication Director Caroline Ravacley, Dominique Gagné, Stéphane Bourgoin and Lorie Comtois.  Teams entered in the tournament paid between $280 and $340 to play and were guaranteed a minimum of three games. The tournament wound up on the third day with the playing of the finals. In all a total of over 200 games were played.  The winners of the various categories are: F-09 and F-11 Delta Tornadoes, F-10 Chomedey Lighting, F-12 Ahuntsic Braves, F-14 Delta Rnades, M-09 Pirates – Trois-Lacs, M-10 Dynamo – St-Eustache, M-11 Blitz – Ile Bizard, M-12 Panellinios, M-13 Fusion 2 - Fabrose M-14 Dragons - DDO. All in all, a quality tournament with exceptionally good refereeing and a reasonably-priced canteen for the players and spectators enjoyment.
