A Montreal police Station 3 soccer team won the bronze medal at last weekend’sMontrealpolice-sponsored mini-world cup
The second edition of the championship took place all weekend atJarryPark. The event included more than 400 young people from 16 different neighbourhood police stations around the city ofMontreal.
“The idea is to build relationships with young people and the police district stations. Throughout the summer these young people have improved their skills as soccer players with practices along with their coaches who were policemen and even neighborhood SPVM leaders and cadres were present weekly with young athletes,” said Montreal Police Const. Daniel Maheu.
Teams from Station 3 (one girls’ and one boys’ squad) and Station 4 (four teams - two boys’ and two girls’ squads) participated. The teams did very well. The Station 3 girls’ team returned home with a bronze medal.
