In the first of two recent back-to-back hockey games at Ile Bizard’s Vincent Lecavalier arena, the home town Atom C Aigles kept their undefeated season record alive as they bested the visiting Knights. Juliano Dibiasio opened the scoring in the first minute of play of the first period when he fired a low shot past Aigles goaltender Emile Savoie. However four quick first period goals by Aigles power forwards William Cyr and Faouzi Saddelah put the game out of reach for the Knights. Starring for the Knights in the game was goalie Dylan Reidy.  Reidy faced 23 shots in the match with five of them alone coming off the stick of Aigles Ryan Teolis who added a goal and was outstanding in the third period.  In spite of being outscored, the Knights did manage to test Aigles’ goaltender Savoie on several occasions when Elliot Garneau, Michael Alexander and Remi Bissonnette all had excellent scoring chances.  Also scoring goals for the Aigles in the match were Michael Silvaggio and Cedric Ledoux.

In the second game the fans were treated to one of the better games played in Ile Bizard this season.  When the smoke cleared it was the Novice C Royals who blanked the Aigles by a score of 1-0.  Royals’ right winger Eric Gonin scored the game’s only goal with less than two minutes left in the contest.  Gonin playing on a line with Ryan Cheung and Ivan Weiss was undoubtedly the first star of the game.  Aigles’ goaltender Benjamin Arsenault as well as Royals’ goalie Mateo Lamosa also had strong games when the turned back their opponents best shooters throughout the game. Number 14 Anthony Senaphanh of the Royals probably had the best scoring chances of the two teams when early in the third period he missed on a one-timer and a clean breakaway. For the Aigles Yehonathan Lev Shruster led all teammates with four shots on goal. Hats off to the Royals’ defensive pair of James Joly and Moreno Di Ciero who led all defensemen in the category of blocked shots.
