The Festival of Lights kicks off the Hudson holiday season activities this Friday Night, November 27th, at Hudson Town Hall, located at 481 Main. The event starts at 6:00pm, will feature our community choirs, guests and residents in the singing of Christmas carols by the light of candles.
Choirs, Christmas tree, lights and candles, horse drawn wagon rides and the many stores specials will also be part of this magical evening. Back this year, the Hudson IGA Poirier & Fils invites children to come and see its Christmas Petting Zoo, ride the pony carrousel and the first 125 kids on site will receive a Christmas Chocolate Calendar & an IGA Christmas activity booklet. The Banque Nationale (Hudson branch) will offer you holiday season goodies and the DPJL Insurance Group (Hudson branch) will animate Main road with their Vespa Christmas unit. Many stores and businesses will offer you special holiday deals. We strongly invite you to bring non-perishable food item for our local food bank Le Pont – Bridging.
Then, do not miss out Saturday’s & Sunday’s Hudson Annual Christmas Craft Fair which will take place at the Stephen F. Shaar Community Centre, located at 394 Main. Doors will open at 10:00 am, offering visitors an opportunity to get a jump start on Holiday shopping. The Fair will run up to 4:00 pm, with exhibitors offering a variety of tempting hand-made crafts. In addition, there will also be a raffle table, with proceeds going to equipment for the Hudson Recreation Department‘s Nursery and Playschool.
We encourage our residents to register for the Hudson Lights Competition 2009 where the winners will be selected on Wednesday, December 16th , by a panel of judges from the Hudson artists Association and led by Derek Halbert.
