New hospital foundation director

Silvana Orrino, who was previously the donor relations officer at the McGill University Health Center Foundation, secured the post on May 28.

"I'm thrilled to be here," Orrino said.

One of her main tasks will be to raise money for the Pointe Claire hospital. "We already have three large events: the duck race, the gala, and the golf, which are going very well," she said.

In addition to raising money, she is especially interested in raising awareness. She wants West-Islanders to know that this is "a great hospital.

"It is clean and the people are very friendly," she added.

Orrino has also worked for the Cedars Cancer Institute at the Royal Victoria Hospital, the McCord Museum of Canadian History and the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation.
