A white male in his 50s passed a counterfeit $100 bill at a Pierrefonds convenience store in the early hours of July 8, police say. The man, a white male about 50 years old, walked into the Couche-Tard store that sits on the northwest corner of the intersection of Pierrefonds and St. Charles boulevards, and paid for a few items with a $100 bill, said Const. Dominique Grenier of Montreal police Station 3. The man then walked out as the cashier examined the bill, noting quickly that it was a fake, Grenier said. The man had blonde hair and a dark sweater, she added.
“Be wary of fake bills. Consumers can protect themselves by going to the Bank of Canada website and learning about it,” Grenier said.

Traffic stop becomes furious footrace
A routine traffic stop turned into a furious foot pursuit after two suspects in a stolen car in Dollard des Ormeaux earlier this month. On July 5 around 6:15 p.m., two Station 4 officers signalled to a suspicious car to pull over, and when it did, at the corner of Merritt and Ranger streets, the two suspects, both males jumped out and fled on foot. Their car had been reported stolen May 24, and they weren’t finding out to hear the details, said Const. Leslie Potts of Montreal police Station 4. The first suspect was collared by one of the original arresting officers, while the other was caught a few blocks away by a bike cop, Potts said. Both men will be charged with auto theft and flight
