“This year, we will have a little more to offer than in the past. There’s also the Hudson Music Festival and Wyman Church, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary,” said fair organizer Diana Lidstone, a member of the Hudson Area Business Association and owner of Emporium Hudson. “We tend to get people from Montreal to Ottawa who come down,” she added. “Some people book this weekend to come visit family and friends in Hudson.”
The fair will have everything from a pie contest, and horse-drawn wagon rides to rescue demonstrations by the Hudson Fire Department. There will also be a town crier making calls three times during the fair, which runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wyman Memorial United Church, 513 Main Rd., will host a country fair Saturday, with free pony rides, an antique car display as well craft tables. The music festival, as part of the street fair on Saturday, will have shows at various locations and on Sunday there will be a jazz brunch at 11 a.m. at Le Maxime, 400 Main Rd., and a folk-music show with Genticorum at Hudson Village Theatre at 8 p.m. Tickets for the latter are $26.
