Beaconsfield resident Bernice Barrie's garden will be one of the six stops during the Beaconsfield Garden Club's fundraising tour on Aug. 12.
Garden tour to benefit NOVA, WIPCR
For the sixth year now, the Beaconsfield Garden Club will be hosting its annual fundraising garden tour benefiting NOVA (formerly the Victorian Order of Nurses or VON) and the West Island Palliative Care Residence (WIPCR). The tour, which takes place on Aug. 12, will feature six stops at gardens in Beaconsfield, Kirkland, and Dorval.
“A garden tour is very acceptable at this time of year,” said Garden Club executive member Mary Martin. “People love to go out and see the different gardens.”
This year’s schedule features everything from impressive flower and vegetable gardens, decorative water installations, and even a model locomotive. The garden at the WIPCR will be the first stop of the tour, and light refreshments will be served at the sixth and final garden in Dorval.
“We try to choose gardens that are interesting from many points of view,” Martin said, adding all the gardens on the tour have been designed and maintained by the homeowners and not by professional design crews.
Tickets, which include the schedule and tour map, are $15 each with all proceeds being split between NOVA and the WIPCR. The tour begins at 9 a.m. on Aug. 12. For tickets and more information, call Mary Martin at 514-630-4334.
