Homicide in Dorval
The body of a 32-year-old man was found late Friday in a Dorval park. The man had bullet wounds in parts of his "upper and lower" body, police said.
A public-security agent was patrolling the park when he found the body near the entrance to a foot path at about 11:45 p.m.

"He's from the area, but that's all we can say," said Montreal police spokesman Const. Anie Lemieux. "We are investigating, but right now there are no new developments in the case," she said.

Bicycles stolen
Station 1 police are reminding people to make sure their garage doors are closed and locked after a wave of bicycle thefts last week. According to Const. Chantal Morneau, three bicycles were stolen out of the garage of a Beaurepaire Drive home during the night between Aug. 20 and 21. The next evening, another home on Beaurepaire Drive was targeted. One bicycle was stolen.
Car break-in suspects arrested
Police arrested two West Island youths on Aug. 21 for breaking into numerous cars in Beaconsfield, Kirkland, and Baie d’Urfe. Officers responded to a call at about 2:30 a.m. from a Monsadel Street resident who saw the two suspects trying to open car doors in the area. When police arrived on scene, the two boys started running, but were apprehended after a short chase. That evening, they had broken into about nine cars. According to police Station 1 Const. Chantal Morneau, the two stole everything they could get their hands on: credit cards, Canadian Tire money, keys, cameras, iPods, GPS systems, sunglasses, and many other items. Police are currently investigating the case, and believe the two boys, one 17-year-old from Ste. Anne de Bellevue and one 16-year-old from Kirkland, are involved in at least 15 other automobile break-in files.
Cyclist injured
Even though summer has, for all intents and purposes, come to an end, cyclists must still be careful on city streets, Station 3 police reminded the public after a cyclist was injured while riding the wrong way and ignoring a stop sign last Thursday around 4:40 p.m. in Pierrefonds. The 13-year-old cyclist was riding against traffic on Bois des Trottiers Street in Pierrefonds when he ignored a stop sign at the corner of Terrapin Street, said Const. Daniel Maheu of Montreal police Station 3. A Dollard des Ormeaux motorist in his 50s was turning south on Terrapin when he collided with the boy, whom he did not see. The young man, a Pierrefonds resident, sustained injuries to his legs and taken to Ste. Justine's Children's Hospital.
"Summer isn't over, and cyclists still have to be mindful that they aren't alone on the road. They have to be careful."
Grocery store break-in
Two suspects broke into a grocery store on Herron St. in Dorval on Thursday morning at 12:50 a.m. They made off with 52 cartons of cigarettes worth $3,300. Police are looking for two white males, but do not have a more precise description because the suspects were wearing ski masks.
Attempted theft
A woman who went to switch a large amount of Canadian money for American money at a currency exchange office in Dorval Thursday afternoon was right when she thought she was being followed. After leaving the exchange office, she went to open her trunk, but decided to keep the money with her and not to leave it in the car.
Shortly after parking her car at her workplace, she heard the alarm go off. Two Latino men between 30 and 35 years old had broken into the trunk and were searching for the money they thought the woman had left behind. They made off – empty handed – in a light gray, four-door Chevrolet Malibu.
Police officer Helene Jubinville of police Station 5 said events like this should remind people not to leave any valuables anywhere in their cars.
