No takers for Sanir Street lot.
No bids for Snair Street lot
Despite selling a few $50 proposal packages during the bidding period for the 17,397 square foot lot located at the dead end between 26 and 28 Snair St. in Kirkland, the town did not receive any proposals by the 11 a.m. deadline last Friday.
As reported in the Aug. 8 issue of The Chronicle, selling the lot to someone looking to build a single-family dwelling would have shut down a small part of a bike path that runs between Kirkland and Pierrefonds. The town was hoping that doing so would help reduce vandalism in the area caused by teens returning home via the Snair Street path after a movie or a day of shopping at the nearby Coliseum and RioCan Centre.
However, the town clerk’s office will now present council with a report detailing the lack of offers, after which they will decide how to proceed.
