Man murdered in Pierrefonds apartment
A 25-year-old man was shot in a Pierrefonds apartment at about 3 a.m.Tuesday morning.
The three other people in the des Erables Street apartment were sleeping when they awoke to what sounded like gunfire. One witness called police, but the victim was declared dead on scene when the ambulance technicians arrived.

Police are currently investigating the case and are interviewing the three witnesses and other people in the neighbourhood who may have seen something.

Mower caper costly for Dorval crook

A 22-year-old man was charged with numerous break-ins following

his arrest in Dorval on Sunday at about

3:45 a.m.

A resident of Mimosa Avenue woke up when he heard noise coming from his neighbours’ house. When he looked out the window he saw the suspect walking off with a lawnmower, so he decided to follow him. Once the suspect realized he was being followed, he decided to abandon the lawnmower, which the witness brought back to his neighbour’s property. Shortly thereafter, the suspect returned to reclaim the lawnmower. In the meantime, however, the witness had called the police who were easily able to track down and arrest the suspect. Police were also able to link him to other break-ins and charged him accordingly.

Man gives chase

After hearing a group of rowdy kids who were walking on cars outside his home on Braebrooke Avenue, a Pointe Claire resident started chasing the bunch. Out of the five, he was able to apprehend two. The boys, aged 15 and 16, were given fines by the police.

Graffiti bust

Station 3 police arrested three teens after an eagle-eyed bus driver caught them

spraying graffiti on his bus last week in Ile Bizard. The driver, a 40-year-old St. Laurent man, caught the three youths — a 15-year-old Ile Bizard resident, a 16-year-old Ile Bizard resident and a 15-year-old Dollard des Ormeaux resident — spray-painting tags on the back of the bus while it was stopped at the corner of Emile-Lecavalier and Chevremont streets in the early hours of last Saturday morning. The man chased the three alleged vandals away but they evaded him, and he lost them, Const. Daniel Maheu of Montreal police Station 3 said. A few minutes later, the bus driver saw the trio again at the corner of Chevremont and de l’Eglise, and called police immediately. The group made no attempt to flee and police found a number of used spray-paint cans on the boys. The three will be charged with petty vandalism, Maheu added.

Caught in the act

Police arrested an 18-year-old for drug possession at about 11 p.m. on Sept. 5. Officers were on foot patrol in Ste. Anne de Bellevue and noticed a parked Honda Civic with three people in it. The man in the back seat had his head down and seemed to be doing something in his lap, but quickly stopped once he noticed the officers were approaching the vehicle. Although he had attempted to hide what he was doing by throwing it on the floor, the officers noticed some traces of what looked like marijuana on his clothes. Following a search, police found between four to five grams of marijuana on the suspect.
