The Fall and rise of a new cultural season
The new cultural season is knocking at our doors and this year’s cultural schedule includes a variety of shows that will surely make everybody in St. Laurent happy.
As usual, most shows are going to be presented at salle Émile-Legault, but other cultural events will be held at the Centre des loisirs and at St. Sixte church.
“Les Grands Explorateurs are back with seven different shows. We have seven plays, including one classic by Molière. There is also some dancing with the Ballet Flamenco,” said Francine Majors, cultural agent for the borough. Splendid classical concerts are on the schedule as well. La Piétà and the Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal will perform at St. Sixte church.
The cultural season launch will be marked by a new series of free shows named the “Friday Rendez-Vous”. Up and coming artists will have the opportunity to conquer their audience at the Centre des loisirs.
Lubo Alexandrov and his band will kick off the season on September 21st with a blend of original Bulgarian music mixed with urban jazz grooves.
“We played outside all summer long, so playing in a smaller place will allow us to be closer to the audience and have a better sound. It’s also an honour to start off the cultural season,” said Lubo Alexandrov.
