Arrest made in road rage incident
A 66-year-old Montreal man was arrested following and apparent case of road rage last Wednesday.
A police officer was in the middle of a radar operation at the corner of Tecumseh Street and Brunswick Boulevard in Pointe Claire, when, at about 2:25 p.m., a 19-year-old motorist pulled up to request help. He told the police officer he had just been hit by a truck, which happened to be passing by. The officer intercepted the truck to question the driver, who said he didn’t realize he had hit another car.
However, after more questioning, it turned out the truck driver was angry after the 19-year-old cut in front of him before the two reached the red light. Out of frustration, the 66-year-old used his truck to push the other driver into the middle of the intersection. The man was charged with hit and run and assault with a deadly weapon, which, in this case, was the truck.
No-break break-in
A Ste. Anne de Bellevue resident was surprised to find a man had snuck into her kitchen while she was unloading groceries last Wednesday at about 12:50 p.m.
The woman returned to her Ste. Marie Road home and began bringing the bags from her car into her kitchen, leaving the front door open. But before going to get a second load out of the trunk, she went to use the washroom.
In the meantime, a man had walked through the open front door and was standing in the kitchen when the woman returned. According to Station 1 Const. Chantal Morneau, the man said he was looking for a restaurant when the woman asked him what he was doing in her house.
Police are looking for a 45-year-old, French-speaking male. He is described as five-foot 10 inches, weighing 200 pounds with dark-grey hair.
Dog stolen
A Beaconsfield man has been looking for his dog since it was stolen on Saturday between 5 and 5:30 p.m.
Not wanting to leave his dog Casper in the car while he went to pick up some groceries at the Metro grocery store on St. Charles Boulevard, the man tied it outside. When he came out of the store, Casper was nowhere to be found. According to two girls, an
elderly woman with white hair had walked over to pet Casper, and then untied the leash and walked off with the dog.
Casper is described as a Teckel dog with brown fur, long ears, and a short stature. Anyone with information can call Station 1 at 514-280-0101.
Automobile attacked
A Dorval couple was alerted when they heard loud pounding noises coming from outside of their home on Marian Street at about 12 a.m. on Sept. 17. When they looked out of the window, they saw a man physically hitting a parked automobile. The couple called 911 about the man, who started setting fire to garbage cans in the meantime.
Police arrived on scene and arrested the 30-year-old Dorval man, who has been charged with causing material damages and arson. According to police Station 5 Const. Lilliana Bellucci, the man smelled of alcohol when he was arrested.
