Bikes run over
Bikes run over
Two 13-year-olds had their bikes destroyed on Thursday evening, after their daredevil stunts failed to impress a motorist.
The two were jumping the street curb on their bicycles near the Beaconsfield Arena at about 7:40 p.m., when one of the boys miscalculated his move, causing him to fall in front of a moving car. The driver braked in time, and got out of his car to grab the boy by his shirt. Scared, the two teenagers ran away, leaving their bikes on the ground. The motorist proceeded to get back in his car to run over the bikes. “He ran over them, back and forth. The bikes were pretty much destroyed,” said police Station 1 Const. Chantal Morneau.

Police are looking for a white man in his 30s, with black hair. The car he was driving is described as a grey, four-door Nissan.

Armed robbery charges

Police were able to arrest three armed robbery suspects in Pointe Claire thanks to good neighbourhood coverage this past weekend.

On Saturday at about 12:20 a.m., a 28-year-old man was walking home along Broadview Avenue in Pointe Claire, when three suspects, one carrying a baseball bat, approached him and demanded his wallet. The 28-year-old refused, and began running while calling police on his cellphone. Noticing this, the suspects turned around to run in separate directions. However, three separate police vehicles were able to track down and arrest the suspects shortly thereafter. The three suspects, two from Pointe Claire and one from Ile Bizard, aged between 17 and 18 years old, have been charged with armed robbery.
