Pointe Claire worker suspended
The City of Pointe Claire has announced that their director of administrative services and treasurer, Roger Robitaille Jr., has been suspended with pay after certain expense “anomalies” were found charged to his business credit card. Robitaille has been a Pointe Claire employee for 11 years.
Pointe Claire has mandated the chartered accounting firm, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, to investigate the situation and produce a report on the alleged anomalies, so the city can proceed appropriately.
Over the weekend, Robitaille was quoted in a French-language daily as saying he has always performed his duties for the City of Pointe Claire in an appropriate manner.
On Tuesday, Pointe Claire’s director general Jean-Denis Jacob told The Chronicle he and the city would not give any further comments on the situation until they obtain Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton’s report.
