Hockey memorabilia nabbed

Kirkland resident and former Habs left-winger Sergio Momesso has not had a good start to the New Year. On Saturday between 7:30 and 11 p.m., thieves cherry-picked Momesso’s home and made off with his 1986 Stanley Cup ring – which he won with the Montreal Canadiens – and three NHL jerseys. Station 1 Const. Jean Pierre Levis said one red number 36 Habs jersey, one black Vancouver Canucks number 27 jersey, and a white St. Louis Blues number 27 jersey signed by former teammate Brett Hull were also taken.

Keen-eared employee

A masked man walked into a Pointe Claire restaurant at about 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 21 and demanded the employees hand over all the money. One of the employees, however, recognized the suspect’s voice, as he was a former restaurant staff member. The employee called police and identified the man who was arrested shortly thereafter.
