Lions win round one: 2nd round starts Saturday in Dollard
West Island team now faces Châteauguay
The Lac St. Louis Lions swept their best of five series against the Prédateurs de Montréal in the first round of the Quebec Midget AAA Hockey League playoffs.

While the Lions swept the series, Game 1 was a see-saw match. They won the game 6-5 when Yasin Cissé scored 2:47 into overtime.

The Lions then exploded for 14 goals in the next two games, winning games last Friday and Sunday both by a 7-2 margin. In game 3, the Lions out shot their opponent 55-26.

Kyle Armstrong led the Lions with three goals in the series.

The Lions will start the second round with two home games, this Saturday and Sunday, at the Dollard Civic Centre. They face Châteauguay, which won their first round series in four games.

The Lions headed into the playoffs last Wednesday with high hopes after finishing the 2007-2008 regular season with a 34-11-0 record. Last season, the Lions followed a solid regular season with a tremendous playoff run that saw them reach the Jimmy Ferrari Cup final, only to lose against the Séminaire Saint-François Blizzard
